IsaacDigital FoundationCyber Security professionalI want to thank the Foundation for putting this tech programme together. Before it, security to me meant setting a strong password on a social media account and hoping for the best. I had no idea how much sits behind that. This programme showed me the rest of it. And it brought out a side of me I had not met. I am grateful to our tutors for the knowledge they poured into me. I came in curious. I am leaving as a cybersecurity student who understands not just what to do, but why it works. **Now, where I am taking it** I am going into application security, so that security is built into software from the first line, instead of being added after a breach. I am starting with the Certified in Cybersecurity, because it is the one I can earn on the strength of what I already have. Then a role doing secure code review beside a development team, and the SSCP once I have the experience behind me. The goal at the end of that road is the Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional. That one takes four years of real work. Good. I would rather arrive there having done the work than carry a certificate I cannot stand behind. I want to be the person an organisation calls early, while a system is still being designed, and not late, when something has already gone wrong. This programme is where that started. Thank you.
AdefamsDigital FoundationNow works as a Business AnalystI failed an interview. It was for a Business Development role with one of the top emerging CEOs in Lagos, and I went home that day and decided the answer was not to keep applying with the same skills. I would add tech to what I already had. I applied for the tech training and was shortlisted for Data Analytics and Business Intelligence. Today I am a Business Analyst at one of the top emerging international logistics companies in Nigeria. The offer came before my certificate and before my project defence. That training gave me a foundation I am already putting to work in the role. It changed how I approach a decision, so that I look at the evidence behind it rather than only the outcome. My goal from here is to grow into a well rounded Business Analyst, bringing my business development background together with data analytics, business intelligence and strategic decision making. Looking ahead, I would value training in Business Analysis, Advanced Data Analytics with Power BI, and Project Management. If I had to choose one, it would be Business Analysis.
We work with companies, schools and community organizations to place training where it is needed. Tell us what you have in mind and we will come back to you.
